Benni was adopted in November last year and brought to the UK, aged 6 months. Sadly, due to a change of circumstances, little Benni could not be kept by his original adopter so was rehomed in March of this year. We were advised he had separation anxiety.
Benni’s new adopters say they are finding his separation anxiety difficult to manage as he cannot be left. They say he is the most beautiful dog and is perfect at home but his separation anxiety is a real problem as he cannot be left on his own at all. He is also cautious of men, so will need patience to adjust to any new men in his life.
We will now be seeking a home for Benni where there is a calm resident dog in situ to mentor him and help calm his anxiety. He is house trained and behaves well in the home. He is an active young boy who likes to run, loves his walks and to play, likes to be busy and occupied. He is very food driven and loves to play tug of war with a toy. He is amazing at catching balls mid air. He loves other dogs and is totally non aggressive – he’s never snarled or growled. He is generally good on a lead but gets very anxious and pulls when walked in a busy area. He doesn’t enjoy the hustle and bustle of towns. He is affectionate and likes to sit on the sofa for cuddles. He loves having his tummy rubbed.
Direct access to a secure garden is essential so that he has the freedom to roam inside and out during the day. He weighs 13kg and is a sweet, kind boy. Can you offer him a permanent, secure home?
